U17s vs.

A bit of a shorter report on the under 17's today as I spent most of the game filling kettles for tuck shop and retrieving footies from down the banking.

From the bits I did see the lads continuned to build the momentum of the previous month with one of their best performances of the season so far, keeping the scoreline very tight up until the last few minutes. Some very impressive football from all and I did get to see Jamie make some superb off the ball runs in to space down the channel, just needing to have the confidence and self belief to call for the ball when he gets in to those great positions.

Scoring another hat trick, Ethan was again on form assisted by a multitude of players including Wayne, Max, Knowlsey and Jack, who caught the eye with some superb distribution today.

Keeper James more than made up for an early mistake with some tremendous saves, one of which saw the slightest of touches surely deny the opposition a certain goal and another in the second half saw a most acrobatic dive to his right, palm the ball away from the corner of his net. New Signing Gerald made an impressive start whilst Will also impressed before an early injury put paid to his game- just glad his shin pad bore the brunt of the challenge and we wish him a speedy recovery. On in his place, Mason had a very busy game whilst Lennie was his usual immovable wall at centre back. After an early wobble, Corey showed much dignity and maturity and the effect of this turned in to a great performance on the right wing. Today's POM went to Binnsy who not only played out of his usual position, he also made it look like he'd been a centre back for some time with a thoroughly brilliant a round performance.

3-6 the final score but OWLS again showing they are more than capable of holding their own in this division against some quality opponents.

Well done lads. Keep believing, keep smiling, keep playing with the same passion, maturity and intensity. the first points are just around the corner😀⚽️🦉
