The under 12's season started off with a home game against Wakefield Athletic. We have gone up a league this season and so we knew the standard would be higher and each game will be a challenge.
Before kick-off, the teams showed their respects with a 1 minute silence in memory of the late Queen.
After kick-off, Owls got off to a good start and took an early lead. WA kept in the game, fought strongly for the ball and managed to pull it back to 1-1 at half time.
After the half time talk, Owls settled into their normal game, playing some lovely football, keeping the pressure on and staying focused whilst a vocal and energetic opposition tried their best to derail us. Owls took a convincing lead to 4-1, WA got it back to 4-2 but then Owls settled the game with two further goals and a convincing 6-2 win.

The dynamics of the team have changed and the players understand what we need to do to be an effective team and all playing their best like the coaches know they can do.
Also, a BIG shout out to parents who were amazing, with encouragement and positive support, making it the family that we are.
There'll be ups and downs this season in a higher league, but this was a great start to the season.
