U10 Girls vs West End Terriers

The Owls U10 girls team faced the West End Terriers in an away match on Saturday, October 28. Despite missing four players, including their regular goalkeeper Daisy, the Owls put on a brilliant performance.

The Owls' starting lineup included Ivy, Evelyn, Lena, Izzy, Molly, Rose, and Ellie. Evelyn took on the role of goalkeeper and did an excellent job keeping the Terriers at bay.

In the first quarter, the Owls played with determination. The Terriers attempted to break through the Owls' defense, but Evelyn's saves and Ellie's control in the backline thwarted their efforts.

The second quarter was evenly contested, with both teams creating chances. Ellie had a promising run and shot that narrowly missed the target. Molly's tackle and Izzy's wide attempt followed suit. Just before the end of the quarter, Izzy converted a goal kick from Evelyn—a crucial moment for the Owls.

The third quarter was action-packed. Ellie's run led to a wide shot by Izzy. Molly's corner almost resulted in an Ivy goal, but it was cleared. Ivy had another chance during a goalmouth scramble. The Terriers countered effectively.

In the final quarter, the Owls continued to give their best effort. Evelyn made a crucial save to deny the Terriers' a goal. The Owls were awarded a penalty after a handball by the Terriers. Rose stepped up to take it.

The final whistle blew as the Owls celebrated their performance against the Terriers. The players of the match were Rose (chosen by parents) and Izzy (picked by the opposition).

Coach Karl praised his team: "Girls all 7 deserve a massive well done—superb listening and sticking to instructions while playing some amazing football. Proper proud coach! 👏"
