Ladies vs. Crofton Ladies FC

The lovely ladies had another friendly today, this time against Croften Ladies FC. Todays game started with a 2 minute silence to honour our late monarch Queen Elizabeth ii.

It was a great game of football to watch with some wonderful plays from both teams.

Unfortunately the opposition went 2-0 up within the first 15 minutes having made some good plays between their midfield and strikers, with the owls unable to chase them down in some dangerous places.

Once again our keeper made some brilliant saves, stopping us from conceding several more goals, she just couldn’t get them all.

Some wonderful team work and communication followed by an amazing run from our striker Skelly saw the the her score 1 just before half time bringing the score to 2-1 to croften. Though not many, we did get 1 or 2 more chances, but the owlettes just could not find the back of the oppositions net.

Second half Mollie (who was awarded oppositions player of the match) was solid in defence as left back, where croften definitely played their stronger players up front. Mollie would not allow them to break through and closed them down brilliantly to stop them getting more shots on target.

Again, unfortunately they had a decent run, mixed with a comedy of errors on our back line saw Croften score their 3rd and final goal of the game. Final score was 3-1 to croften.

Our own player of the match went to Liv, who not only played amazingly well, she also adapted to a few different positions in order to help the team where needed.

.

Thank you to Owen Felkin for taking the time to come and referee for us!
