YELLOWS 2 v WORTLEY 2
Beautiful conditions today at Manley park as we took on wortley, always a good battle and today was no different
We previously bet them last week so we knew today they would be up for it as they are pushing for a top 3 spot in league standings
We started brightly, and we’re putting some nice passing together and working the ball well down the wings and through the centre, and putting pressure on there defence, Jaiden was pressing and forced an earjy error from the defender to get us 1-0 up,
Ozza, and fin worked well on the wings, and linked up well with the defence Oli Maisie, batey, Noah, who were calm and composed, and distributed the ball out well, batey did some solid tackling and fearless headers, and Maisie was showing her strength out side.
Jack, Oscar, and Dom were doing the dirty work down the middle and cutting out passes, long balls, and halting any wortley momentum, they played sone nice balls through the lines and Jaiden was always on hand to fire them home
HT we discussed not playing too deep, and not inviting them in to our half, and focussing on keeping our midfield in position ready to transition
Second half Wortley never gave up, and piled the pressure on for spells and were rewarded with a goal bringing them back into play 2-1 owls, the last 15 mins got a bit scrappy and it was end to end, turned into hoof ball, and the principles of footbsll went out window, I thought we’d done enough to win the game but in the last 5 mins they scrambled in the area and they got the equaliser, not ideal but a draw was fair as there was nothing in the game.

Last 2 games left to finish our season we play Thursday and then Sunday then that’s it, we are aiming for a top 5 finish which is easily achievable if we continue with this recent performance
Games going forward after our season will be thick and fast so everyone will be getting lots of matches both midweek and weekend
