U13s vs. Wetherby Athletic

Our under 13s were back in action today against some new opponents Wetherby Athletic.

OWLS had a bit of a lethargic start and were 1-0 down within the first 10 minutes to a great shot, but after that it really was all one way traffic. With the odd break superbly kept out by our goalie and Player's Player of the Match - Charlie.

Our first goal came from a superb run from Owen who went through the defence and fired home. He was almost back to his best today and eventually got himself a thoroughly deserved hat trick.

One of our new recruits, Asem was absolutely on fire and used his quick feet and pace to great effect. He also bagged himself a hat trick!!

The final goal came from Scaifey, who really impressed with his strength and communication all over the pitch.

And how Matthew didn't score today is a complete mystery! He tried so hard, but block after block meant he was thwarted!

The defence held firm and managed to clear almost all the danger that came their way. Big shouts to Sophie, Jayden R and Joel who really stood up to the challenge today.

Also brilliant to see how some more new recruits, Hamza, Haadi Anas and Adnan are showing that they are improving and developing all the time and were exceptional today in all that they were asked to do.

After all the upheaval of the last few months, it's great to see the team continuing to be determined and be the best versions of themselves. Really, really proud of them all.

Final Score OWLS 7 - Wetherby Athletic 2

Owen x 3

Asam x 3

Jayden S x 1

Player of the Match - our gifted Goalie - Charlie
