U12s Yellows vs. Pudsey

We are top of the league say we are top of the league!

Extremely tough conditions today the pitch was horrendous but it games like this that you get to see the characters and hearts of the players, and every player showed true grit, and determination today and they walked off proud winners with a dominant display.

Big occasions call for big performances and the lads didn’t need much more motivation than knowing a win here would see us knocking the opposition off top spot and putting us on top.

The whistle blew and Owls set the standard for the game, we pressed, put them under pressure and we were winning first and second balls every time, our captain today Caiden didn’t take long to break the deadlock and put the first goal of the morning in with brilliant link up play in the centre of the pitch, the midfield were passing round and it was like watching Barcelona with the quick one touch passing and again Jaiden received the ball turned the defence in side out and slotted our 2nd home wit a great shot, we literally had 90% possession at this time and we were camped in the oppositions half just terrorising the defence and peppering the keeper with shot after shot after shot, the 3rd goal came with constant pressure and a deflected shot of the defender 3-0 Owls Jacob p came on from the bench and asserted his presence on the pitch and we committed bodies forward and pinged the ball about in the final 1/3rd and Jacob set himself nicely and fired his shot home to make it 4-0.

We really had pudsey under the cosh and they couldn’t handle our intensity and passing and movement, and such was our dominance we could have played with 1 defender as they couldn’t even get the ball out of there own half, more link up play and driving runs from Oscar Darby and Jaiden saw a lovely ball played through to fin who I thought took a touch too much but he cut inside on his weak foot and placed it bottom corner 5-0

Just before HT pudsey pulled one back due to a blip in concentration taking us into HT 5-1

The second half required us to dig deep as we were going uphill and had no subs, Cameron who did a brilliant job to stand in for Ryan went off at HT due to not feeling well, so fin stepped up for goal, we started the second half where we left the first half and that was dominating the game, Oli L, marshy, and Kwami were faultless at the back and Kwami marked there striker and had him in his pocket all game to the frustration of the big kid, they worked as unit at the back and with confidence passed back the GK and switched play to the left and right and made pudsey chase the ball about and you could see the frustration on the players faces, Oscar D and Ozza were causing havoc on the wings and putting in some really good crosses and it was only minutes until the first goal of the second half came through Jaiden to claim his brace with a great bit of skill and calm finish.

The pudsey coach was now urging his players to press us and push up the pitch as once they got the ball they had no options due to our constant pressure going forward, this just played into our hands as with our accurate passing and vision it just created more space for us to run pudsey ragged at the back, Jacob P claimed our seventh goal with a well hit shot and good vision to see the keeper in the wrong place and it saw the ball creep in to the corner.

The final goal of the match came from Oscar D who I must say has been a great addition to the team, he’s strong, direct, and a lovely polite kid, he had great vision and today was his second game for the owls and he’s settled in fantastic and looks like he’s been part of the Squad for years with his chemistry with the team, he had lots of chances today and got lots of assists and I told him at HT the goal would come and with 5 minutes left he took his chance and it was an unstoppable finish to finish the game off 8-2 Owls

A dominant display from start to finish

Today, myself and Keith are so proud of your attitudes and effort and teamwork
